Eminent’s lightweight luggage is made using materials that keep the weight low without losing strength.
Our hard-shell suitcases are made from polypropylene and Makrolon polycarbonate. Both are light but strong enough for travel. Polycarbonate is especially useful because it bends on impact and then returns to shape instead of cracking.
If you prefer soft-shell suitcases, we use hard-wearing nylon, one of the lightest materials going. It squeezes into tight spaces and stretches a little when you are packing right to the limit.
Some of our suitcases are made to be as light as possible. Cabin sizes start at 2.3 kg, medium at 2.9 kg, and large at 3.7 kg.
That difference matters when you pack. It means more of your weight limit can go to your own things instead of the suitcase. On a cabin bag, it can be the difference between passing check-in smoothly or having to open it up and reshuffle. On checked luggage, it simply gives you more allowance for your belongings.
